Virtual Mentoring

The American Speech-Language-Hearing Association has published some excellent resources on the virtual mentoring process. I found the information valuable and pertinent to our Global Learner Project Mentoring. What do you think?

I like the articles you posted regarding Virtual Mentoring. The articles Mentoring and Coaching Skills and Giving Effective Feedback confirm the importance of two-way communication. I'll be the first to admit that at times, I'm not the quickest and returning e-mails. Maybe that is the place I can begin to ensure communication remains fluid.

I do feel that our Global Learner Mentor/Mentee relationship are for collaboration and idea sharing and it's just a matter of time before we all feel the confidence in sharing what we work on! This is also something I'm working on improving.

Thanks, Dave!

I liked the Mentoring and Coaching Skills page. It is always good to be reminded of best practices for communication. Laurie, Jim and I had our first Skype conversation tonight! I am excited to be working with them this year.
